Learn about Reed Point, MT

In 1891, the Crows signed an agreement with Congress ceding part of their reservation, which the United States then offered to settlers. Homesteaders came from within the U.S., along with Norwegians, Swedes and Germans. The town’s name came from Harry and Alice McCleary Reed, who ran a stage station in the late 19th century.

Today, Reed Point hosts the annual Great Montana Sheep Drive, a favorite of residents and visitors alike!
