You can drop by our offices during normal business hours to get a full grill tank or other Department of Transportation-approved portable propane container.

At our Worden and Hysham locations, we’ll happily refill portable propane tanks in any size. Safety is our top priority. At our Worden location, we can also perform a safety check to recertify your propane cylinder to make sure that it’s fine to use at your home.

Safety tips for propane cylinder use

Propane is typically an incredibly safe fuel. However, you need to be aware of standard propane safety practices when handling, transporting and storing your cylinders.

• Always transport propane cylinders in an upright position so that they don’t roll or shift in transit.
• Make exchanging or refilling your cylinders the last thing you do before returning home, and keep your cylinder in a well-ventilated area of your vehicle, such as a truck bed. Never leave a filled propane cylinder in a hot car.
• Always store your propane cylinders outdoors, never in your home, garage, shed or other enclosed spaces.
• Keep your propane cylinders in a cool place. Never expose them to heat above 120°F.
• Keep propane cylinders away from flames and other sources of ignition. That includes cigarettes and spark-producing tools.
• Know the smell of propane (similar to rotten eggs, skunk spray or spoiled meat) and how to respond to a potential leak. If you smell a leak, even faintly, or hear a hissing noise near your tank, turn off the valve. Leave the area and call the emergency services. Do not restart your appliance until a qualified technician inspects your tank and appliance.
